Agree with your match-ups and Boley, I will add that when the Ducks are playing their best it's with Satou at the top of her game: whoever plays better, Cook or Sabally goes to the Championshp Game.shoparound wrote:So Baylor has two strong bigs, in Cox (6'4) and Brown (6'7).
The whole team looks very talented, but Oregon St says Marie Gulich single handedly handled those two bigs.
Match-up wise, Erin Boley is going to have to find a way to be the exploit to the mis match.
I have a feeling it will be
Sabrina vs 6'1 Richards
Maite vs 5'8 Landrum
Erin vs 5'8 Jackson
Ruthy vs 6'7 Brown
Satou vs 6'4 Cox

Took a look at Baylor's schedule in the Big12. Looks like the conference is no where near as competitive as Pac12. Only one other team made sweet sixteen and a few others were upset earlier than their seed. Pac had 5 teams in sweet sixteen and two in elite 8. I think the tougher schedule and close games may be important in the final minutes if the game is close.
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

They're #1 overall for a reason. Baylor only had four tough games this year - On the road against Arizona State (W 65-59), on the road versus West Virginia (W 63-57), neutral site against South Dakota State (72-66), and a road loss at Stanford (L 63-68). They beat UConn by 11 and destroyed South Carolina and Iowa in the Tournament.
If I was a betting man, my money would be on the Bears, in this game and in the national championship. Their consistency and talent are remarkable. That said, common opponents (ASU, Stanford, SDSU) show that the two teams have fared similarly against the same competition. Oregon will have a shot.

It's time for Nyara to rub some dirt on her knee and get out there.

Everyone will have to play well for Oregon to have a shot at winning against Baylor and the Championship. You can’t take a day off for either game.

If they play at the level they did against Mississippi State they are competitive with anybody.

I think the Stanford game was the best the girls played all year. Next would be Miss. State. Play like that and they can win. Anything less and they don't. I didn't think they would beat MSU. Going in I thought Baylor and MSU were the teams to beat. Still Do. Go get 'em girls. GO DUCKS!

Just another example of how few people watch women's basketball, Friday night NBA is expected to be a bigger draw for ESPN than the Womens Final 4 which is put on ESPN2.

IF Boley can remember how to shoot and Cazorla attacks and the usual suspects play well we have a real shot. Just depends on how the JV refs call it inside. Ruthy gets in foul trouble and we are DONE...
