So nice to click on page 4 of this thread and see a positive comment right on top. Now I'll scroll back and read the comments. If it were a loss I'd move on as with a loss the sky is falling, Altman needs to be fired, we suck, etc etc.

Tonight was just a total collapse by Colorado. They looked to have all the momentum but then decided to have a brain fart for much of the 2nd half.

There was marked improvement from Walker and Patterson on defense tonight in terms of rotation understanding and closing out under control. Walker battling Battey down low for that tie up was key.

Hopefully they can understand and sustain that now.

Sounds like the Ducks cranked up the D in the second half which may have led to said brain fart to some extent?

Certainly looked that way... Wright was getting a lo more easy looks during the Ducks7 minute
brain fardt, and Battey was a force around the bucket at times.

Interesting to see CJ hit the floor with Battey on that tie up in the second half, and Battey be the one rolling and groaning on the floor afterward.

There were several instances where both Duck and Buff players landed on the boards, and the Duck quickly jumped up to get back in the ongoing play, while a Buff sat there looking like he needed a hand up.

No quit in OUR team, last night!

One thing this team has to realize is if the shots aren’t falling on offense they’ve got to crank it up on defense. Try to get some steals, stops, get the momentum back and hopefully easy buckets. Haven’t seen that for the most part this season and that is something they can control.

Maybe its time to see more Patterson through the stretch run. He and Walker being true freshmen have the most potential for a huge end of season breakout down the stretch. I'll be shocked to see much of a net contribution from Dante this year and the transfers are probably going to stay what they are now.

Altman on Addison Patterson after last night's game........“He’s earned that,” Altman said. “He’s been working hard and the last couple of weeks really been doing a better job. Not only did he have 12 minutes of really positive stuff, there were no negatives. You weigh everything, yeah you want guys to make some plays but he blocked out, he went after balls, tipped that one out to Payton for a three in the first half. … I thought as much as anybody that second half, his performance, his 12 minutes were very good.”

Lets hope it earned him some serious minutes moving forward. Juiston is not contributing on either end, should definitely be taking his minutes. Walker still doesn't seem to really understand what to do, he plays hard though. If Mathis is hitting his 3's, he's a big asset, not hitting 3's, doesn't contribute much. Winning comes down to getting offense from anywhere but inside, and pressure creating turnovers.

Is that true? He seems like he is often being asked to guard the other team's best post player because the ducks don't have another option. It feels like runs by the ducks nearly always involve Juiston rebounding, getting a steal, or blocking a shot to keep it going.

Walker gave up 64 pounds to Battey and scrapped for balls. He ripped two of them away from Battey. Thumbs up.

Contributing nothing was overstating it. He is definitely contributing on the boards, last 6 games, averaging 7 rebounds a game. In the same games, he's averaging 1.3 steals, and .3 blocks.
