Also might be worth pointing out that Altman just offered Jamarion Sharp, a 7-2 Juco Center from Illinois.

Ben Gregg and Nathan Bittle
They are getting close to their commitment dates and we made the cut. Thought I'd make one thread for the both of them.

Haven't followed Gregg much; Bittle I think is a Gonzaga lean, but we're in it.

Would love Bittle. Gregg... egh.
I also know nothing about basketball talent identification.

Bittle is special talent. I watched Gregg and Bittle go against each other last year, and I wasn't very impressed with Gregg. However, word is he's improved dramatically the last year, so who knows.StevensTechU wrote:Would love Bittle. Gregg... egh.

Losing Bittle to Gonzaga will be a bummer.

If anyone wants to see Bittle losing in horse while being interviewed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQK-ZjwYlho
She's pretty good, to be fair!
Bittle has a ton of growing to do in terms of his aggression, strength, and balance. But size and skill level are rare.
The real Oregon kid to keep an eye on is 2023 kid from Jefferson. He'll get offers from UK/Duke/UNC, all the big boys. Mookie Cook.

Bittle is transferring to California to train and play due to the COVID situation. The gossip is the recruiting lead over Arizona (who has a link to Bittle's new coach) is "minimal." But who really knows. If Altman can't land him after he's personally visited him four times... it wasn't meant to be.

Gregg committed to Gonzaga. I'm not really surprised. I don't know how hard Altman was going after him anyway, Think he is more interested in Bittle.

Re: Nathan Bittle
Feeling decent about this one. Gregg went to Gonzaga. All three of the crystal balls having going to Oregon. Despite recent interest of Arizona. I thought Gonzaga would be the real challenger. If we get him that's a huge get for Altman. When was the last time an Oregon school pulled an instate big man that highly rated nationally? Ralph Miller going signing Charlie Sitton?ICamel wrote:Bittle announcing Tuesday, September 15th

Maarty Leunen is the highest in state big man I can remember Oregon getting.
Brian Jackson was a 2A player, but I think he was a 4* that Oregon State got.
AD Smith wasn't highly rated, but will always be an Oregon HS legend for basically single handedly running through the PIL teams in the state playoffs.
The 5* kids I remember(Kevin Love, Terrance Jones) all went elsewhere.

EJ Singler was a 4* I believe
We also ended up getting Mike Moser for his last year if that semi counts.

Ummm, Payton Pritchard?
97.88 composite 4 Star, 4 time State Champ. 2 time POY
Wouldn't that be the last big time in state get?
Great news on Bittle.
