Re: Lawson transferring
Likely means his brother ends up asking for a release as well. Looks like Altman is going to have to tap into the transfer market in a big way now since both them leaving would leave 4 spots open.

Bummer, but with Donte, Kepnang, Bittle, and Johnson down low, minutes will be tough in the post.
Looks like we have an extra guard spot.

Re: Lawson transferring
It's been quite the disappointing progression since his promising Freshman year. He was a liability on both sides of the floor this season and for him to transfer now gives up any hope that he comes back strong for his JR year. Best of luck to him though.

Agreed. His progression really moved in the wrong direction this year. Maybe covid-related. Hope he turns it around.

Well, what about Hardy's brother becoming a Duck?
I would have liked to have seen him stay but I understand the need for guys to do what they feel is in their best interests.

True, honestly he never really quite panned out to his potential. Bummer part is likely losing out on Jonathan lawsonOregonFan4Life wrote:It's been quite the disappointing progression since his promising Freshman year. Funny how the Ducks will flip the script next year, and be inside-heavy. Not that Jonathan Lawson was a great shooter, he really isn’t, but if the Ducks do lose him, they will need to find shooters, and more shooters, to loosen the middle for the big men. Pretty confident Coach can bring in some transfers that can light it up.

Well, we just had the PG of the year and then the SG of the year nationally...so hopefully someone wants to play those positions for us!
Losing Stubbs is also tough, but maybe Altman can get a young hotshot recruiter added.

Re: Lawson transferring
Wish we could get some updates from Prehm or Hopkins about who the Ducks are looking at as far as assistant coaches go. But i know the basketball team doesn't get any juice like the football team does. Still... we are going to need a guy to do a lot of leg work for Altman now that Stubblefield is gone. Would also be nice to keep the young Lawson in the fold. But I am not holding my breath.

Both him and his brother are heading to Memphis, as many predicted.

I wish we'd be able to retain Chandler's brother. But I understand wanting to be at home.
