He's actually really good friends with my family and I. Reza Aleaziz, pitcher out of Southridge HS, just committed to Oregon.
Reza told me that the coaching staff said he was their #1 prospect on their uncommitted board. He has been high on OSU for a while, and they pursued him strong. Frye, pitcher from OSU, was close friends with him. But then about a month ago, U of O started sitting in on his games/practices. And he visited UO last weekend with his dad and he was blown away. I think the Business program was a big help too. Anyway, I go to Ducks games with him a few times a year, so I'm REALLY happy he's going to U of O.
He also visited Harvard/Yale for football, he plays QB. Washington, Washington State, Arizona State, Santa Clara strongly recruited him for baseball, but he told them and all other schools recruiting him that he wanted to stay in-state. So he said that's why some other schools stopped calling and he didn't get more offers. Anyway, I'm probably stoked more than any of you, but he's a great pitcher and the coaches loved him.

Re: Instate recruit commits to Oregon
Good deal. Feels like our baseball program has really garnered some real momentum.
Congrats to Reza! He will be a great addition to the ducks both on and off the field. Hopefully he'll be able to crack the starting rotation in the first couple years.

That's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing TK! I'm kind of a noob when it comes to baseball recruiting, but it seems like this state is pretty good at producing D1 talent. It's surprising considering the weather.

OSU winning those two titles, probably wouldn't have happened if Oregon didn't produce some solid prospects. And while Oregon will recruit Cali a lot more than OSU, we still end up taking 3-4 of the top prospects out of Oregon every year. Reza was their #1 non-committed pitcher on their board. Speaks a lot about the talent in Oregon.
