For those hardcore Oregon baseball fans, what are their chances of the Ducks making the College World Series next year?

kind of hard to put a % on it. our pitching staff will be deeper and we should score more runs, but advancing in the postseason depends almost entirely on how you're playing down the stretch and how good your opponents are playing. we played our best ball in the middle of the season. kent state saved their best for the right time. hence, kent state is off to omaha and we're staying home, lofty national seed aside.
i think we might have three legitimate aces on the staff next year if jones returns 100% and thorpe moves to the rotation. reed/jones/thorpe would be a dynamite weekend trio.

There are a lot of reasons to believe our chances are good, but making the CWS is tough no matter how good your team is. We return most of our position players, our pitching staff could be even better, and the bullpen projects well also. It's very likely that Oregon is in the mix for the Pac-12 crown and the CWS, but nothing is a given in baseball.

All I know is that this team needs more "punch" on offense.

Ya add some hitters and we are in great shape but clearly it's tough as hell getting to the CWS so clearly some luck is involved.
