Interesting to be in a bracket with teams that Oregon had a 6-1 record against in the regular season, even if many of those teams looked pretty great over the last two weeks. Hopefully Kleist is fine, and I'm sure she will be.

Nice to see the PAC 12 so well represented, 4 of 8 out of the PAC.

I'm sure she will be fine. Everyone has a bad day once in a while and that was the first one for MK in a loooooooooooong time.

On a side note, this Friday/Saturday is the State Championships for baseball and softball. Right now softball is played at OSU but with the renovation at Jane Sanders it'd sure be quite the experience and upgrade; especially if the WCWS starts the same weekend so there wouldn't be scheduling conflicts in the future.

Re: Softball: 2018 Women's College World Series
I definitely agree with those who think it will be Elish starting on the mound for the Ducks Thursday morning. She's got the hot hand, which, according to quotes from White, was what guided his decision to go with Elish again on Saturday. I do think, just for Megan's confidence, that it's important to get her back in there -- even if in a relief role -- as soon as possible. In any case, based on White's stress on the Ducks' getting off to a strong start (http://www.registerguard.com/sports/201 ... rld-series), it sounds like he might have a quick hook if the starter isn't looking good in the opener: "I’m going to have a short leash, whoever starts. Sometimes it’s just not your day, and I don’t think I can wait to see what happens. If it’s not on, it’s not on." (Of course, in college softball, the pulled pitcher can also potentially return to the game.)

Yeah, I've read of those odd records vs. Pac-12 foes in the CWS. I think it's partly flukish -- the Ducks usually win the conference, after all -- and partly simply that the Pac-12 has a bunch of really good teams year after year.
As far as the matchup vs. the Sun Devils goes, I'm sure ASU will start its ace Giselle Juarez, who lost to the Ducks in Tempe in April -- though only giving up 2 earned runs and 6 hits in a complete game -- and then beat them two days later in a complete game 3-hit shutout. Kleist was the Ducks' pitcher of record in both games, throwing the complete game 3-hit shutout in the first game, but lasted only two innings in the third game, giving up a single earned run. Elish went all the way in the middle game of the series, giving up just 4 hits and one earned run (a home run), striking out 12 and not walking anyone.

Per Moseley tweet, Ducks are going with Elish in the circle, which should surprise no one.
Go Ducks!!
