This coaching change is starting to feel like getting the death penalty treatment by the NCAA

This whole thing got ugly fast. Like there's about to be a parking lot fight outside the Jane ugly with the current/former Oregon softball players.

Now it's starting to look like the players were upset for Mike White not getting paid more before he left, and they took it out as a lack of trust. Now logically we know that a non-revenue sport can't just hand over that much money, especially since there was no title show for it.
Forward to Lombardi getting hired, and having different philosophies/styles, the former players miss their original coach. On Balint's complain about the ASU catcher going on, she should have clearly known you can't transfer and not sit out a year if you aren't given that release. Hard to believe this hit her out of nowhere. It will be extremely awkward for her now since she's still taking classes this term and probably signed up for the same ones as a lot of these girls.

Now we don't know if there's more to this story that happens behind the scenes. But it does sound like they all up and left mostly because MW didn't get his big paycheck.

Thanks for the great summation. With what you covered and the animosity that existed between White and Mullens, a complete do over seems to be the best way out of this.
