Re: California @ #21 Oregon (3 game series)
Cal is in free fall mode right now, so we may be getting them at a good time. They are 4-11 in their last 15 games, 3 of their wins coming against an Oregon State team in a similar free fall at the time they played, and Sacramento State. They've been swept by Stanford, Wazzu, and UCLA in that span. They're giving up a loooooooot of runs right now.

I say that we win this series but Cal will win 1 game, probably the Sunday game.

Why Sunday? I'd take Thornton over just about anybody's Sunday guy not playing on Arizona State, Virginia, Texas, etc. Cal's Sunday guy has been getting rocked lately, and the Bears have given up 20 runs the past two Sundays against Wazzu and UCLA, neither of whom are God's gift to offense.

I'm just saying that Oregon hasn't swept any Pac-10 team yet so am looking at the most possible one, which to me is Sunday due to the possible lack of focus at the end of a series and the anticipation of a possible regional berth. It is entirely likely that they sweep Cal due to their recent struggles and Oregon's strong pitching as of late.oregontrack wrote:Why Sunday? I hated playing that game in Portland on Wednesday. Not only did we lose AGAIN to OS, but we should have been getting ready for Cal. Cal was coming in ripe for the picking.

Cal has lost 7 in a row until tonight. OS is going to end up beating us TWICE if we don't get going!
