We'll probably lose a couple since it always seems to happen with Horton's classes.dthomas=ddixon wrote:http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml ... =204836091duckgrad99 wrote:Hats off to the team for a better season than most of us imagined. This gives us great experience for next season, and I wouldn't be surprised to see us do even better. We have another good recruiting class coming in right?
It looks like it. A lot of pitchers. Hopefully we can get through a draft without losing em all.

I'd like to see a couple more power hitters in there.

This class doesn't look like it has any power hitters, but I think that Horton is fine with that. Some may develop into power hitters but right now it looks to be one filled with hitters that are already on the team.woundedknees wrote:I'd like to see a couple more power hitters in there.

100% same thing here.. I got 3 months of nothing to watch or follow in terms of sports.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Exactly my thoughts. My biggest dissapointment in all this is now I have to really face the duldrums of summer. No Ducks sports to distract me.barfight wrote:Now what am I supposed to do until football season?
World cup will be awesome, but that's just for a few weeks.

Well I'll be working and taking a summer class, and the majority of all that is done on my computer, so watching or following sports on my lappy makes the days go a lot easier.Biggus Duckus wrote:Summer is the time to do stuff. Hiking, softball leagues, swimming, etc.
Geez I've never heard people in Oregon complain about summer before

Yeah, these next 3 months are going to be really slow in terms of Oregon sports. Hopefully we get a football commit or two soon or another basketball recruit or something. I'm a big baseball fan so I will have that to follow, but other than that I will just have to read the football magazines for the upcoming season.

Re: Oregon vs Florida State (4 PM Sunday)
The only things we could possibly look forward to in the next couple months are the World Cup for next few weeks, Altman needing to hire some assistants and possibly getting a late recruit, track & field championships in Eugene next weekend, the Prefontaine Classic on July 3rd and maybe minor league baseball if you're interested. Other than those, summer will be slow until fall camp kicks off.duckgrad99 wrote:Yeah, these next 3 months are going to be really slow in terms of Oregon sports. Power hitters are really nice and really fun to watch, but the teams that rely on hr's aren't as consistent. Sure they can catch fire and go really far, but they could also fizzle. Plus, for my money, the squeeze play is the most exciting play in baseball!greenyellow wrote:This class doesn't look like it has any power hitters, but I think that Horton is fine with that. Just be thankful that you guys aren't Mariner fans. It's going to be a long, long summer.

Main reason I can't follow MLB for an entire season: just too many games for too many crappy teams. They need to either reduce the amount of games or reduce the amount of teams.oregontrack wrote:Just be thankful that you guys aren't Mariner fans. It's going to be a long, long summer.

It's the period from mid-June to the end of August where there is only a 70% chance of rain instead of 100%.duck55 wrote:Oregon has a summer??Biggus Duckus wrote:Summer is the time to do stuff. Hiking, softball leagues, swimming, etc.
