Boer loses his no-hitter in the 7th... thank you, cordy... but the Ducks are still up 3-0.

4-0 Ducks, top 8. Marder doubles, Mendenhall scores from second. Never too much run support against these damn Rainbows...

Wow. Jinxed the no-hitter on a message board. Ouch. Great outing, nice first win

Maybe now the wins will come a little easier. That first one is always the hardest to get, especially early in the season.

Madison Boer is exactly the reason why you can never put much stock in freshmen. He had a 6.83 ERA his first year and was one of our worst pitchers; he sure has heck looks like our #2 at this point.

I don't think Serna's absence has affected anything. Two good pitchers went at it in game one, and our 'pen wasn't up to the challenge. And offense sure wasn't the problem in game two.greenyellow wrote:You have to wonder if not having Serna is affecting things at all, but it seems as if has more to do with the pitching being unable to hold leads yet.

I haven't seen the stat sheets, but I'm wondering if there have been any defensive problems at SS and 3B that may have cost the team a run or two.oregontrack wrote:I don't think Serna's absence has affected anything. Hambright had one at 3B. Serna's a walking error himself at short, though.

Our boom or bust pitcher. I think he'll get us the win today.
