Our first pac-10 opponent. Should be interesting.

This should give a decent idea of how we'll fare in pac 10 play. Washington is one of the lesser Pac 10 teams but it will still be a good test for us.

I think it's cool that we get to play them as an OOC game. Playing a conference opponent this early should allow us to better prepare for conference play.duckgrad99 wrote:Our first pac-10 opponent. Should be interesting.

Oh really, this series doesn't count in the league standings?

I think Horton left Boer in for too long. It was obvious that he was struggling with control. The offense has got to start putting hits together and scoring more runs.

Darn, the Ducks had a chance. Had the bases loaded, down by 2 in the 8th inning and couldn't come through.

Ducks lose 5-3. If there has been one weakness so far, it's probably not being able to get an extra base hit with men on base.

The games are there to win, they just need to learn to finish. Which they will with time. They are the youngest in the country, with zero players with D-1 experience.

Sure Oregon is young but, Oregon actually has some D-1 experiance. You can see for yourself here:dthomas=ddixon wrote:The games are there to win, they just need to learn to finish. Which they will with time. They are the youngest in the country, with zero players with D-1 experience.

That's what I get for taking everything Jerry Allen says as factDuckxing wrote:Sure Oregon is young but, Oregon actually has some D-1 experiance. The 2 from OSU don't have D-1 baseball experiance. Tomasini played football & Kreitz redshirted his one year there. Thanks for the correction.

Ugh, I hope pac-10 play goes better than this. Oh well, I just have to remember: "low expectations".

Re: Oregon @ Washington (Washington leads series 1-0)
One thing to remember about these two games with Udub is we've used our 4th & 5th starting pitchers. Right now our only chance to win each game is defense & keeping the other teams score very low. Our hitting just can't keep up. These two games we've gotten down by 3-4 runs right away & with our offense, it's game over. When Anderson & Stavert are pitching we'll have a great chance to win each game, after that....
