Strengths:
Willie is a very talented combo guard. He has an explosive first step with great vision and is a very creative passer. He can play either guard position with his size. He seems to be at his best when playing with the ball in his hands. He is a good shooter with his feet set with range to 20 feet.

Weaknesses:
He needs to improve his decision making some because he forces the issue at times. This should improve as he becomes more experienced. Moore is an ok defender on the ball but is good at playing the passing lanes.

Bottom Line:
He is a good rebounder for a point guard. Willie is a solid talent with a nice upside. He's a skilled and talented combo guard.

From everything I've read, he sounds like a better shooting version of Bruce Barron. Hopefully Moore can improve on the defensive end because he's built like a tank. The scouting report almost makes him sound like a Baron Davis/Eric Gordon hybrid - though both Davis and Gordon are elite-level athletes (Davis not so much anymore tho)

From the other thread
Name: Willie Moore

Height: 6’3
Weight: 200

Position: Shooting Guard

High School: Aiken
Hometown: Cincinnati, OH

AAU: All-Ohio Purple/Cincinnati Knights
Class: 2012

Evaluation: Extraordinarily talented combo guard that can scores the ball at a high level. A good shooter with deep range when left open Moore is best when attacking the basket. Solid handles, an unlimited arsenal of dribble moves, and elite court vision make him unstoppable towards the rim. A big and strong body with speed, a strong first step, and good leaping ability allow him to finish plays in transition or through contact in traffic. Where Willy is undervalued is his ability to pass the ball, he often sees plays several steps ahead of the other players on the court; while he can be careless with the ball he is able to produce some “wow” plays with his passing skills and creativity. Tough minded and competitive, Willy often shines on big stages but needs to learn how to keep that intensity intact at all times on the court.

Bottom Line: Consistency is the name of the game for Moore as he tries to make his production equal his vast potential. While several high majors have been involved his play has been a little too erratic and he looks like a mid major steal at the moment. Possesses all the talent to be a star combo guard at the college level.
Sounds like WR recruit Dwayne Stanford deserves a lot of credit for getting him to visit. Also props to Coach Stubblefield who supposedly really connected with Moore.

I think Keon Pledger probably would have been more of an impact player immediately than either Moore or Robinson, but I can see why the coaches would prefer high school kids with no baggage or academic issues.
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

Nice to see the roster getting filled out, but am concerned with so many FR in one class. I had hoped we wouldn't see that again but the transfers of Brown and Barron have thrown the scholarship balance out of wack so Altman will have to balance it later.
