i say "current", as carson kelly, our 3b/p commit from westview high school is #43.

nothing surprising. keudell wasn't going to jump this high (though he'll definitely improve upon his 38th round selection last year), altobelli and hambright are our only everyday draft-eligible position players... and joey housey is really our only draft-eligible reliever who sees much time. i think jeff gold is technically draft eligible, the more i think of it.

anyway, nothing unexpected. we'll be lucky to see kelly here, and we'll just have to wait and see where altobelli is selected. we probably won't lose much. christian jones is draft eligible, but coming off tommy john he should be back.

What makes a player "draft eligible?"

out of high school for three years (true juniors or redshirt sophomores), or turning 21 within 50 days of the mlb draft. the latter is the reason why jack marder was draft eligible last year, despite being a true sophomore.

a mock draft projecting out the first 10 rounds has christian jones going in the 7th round, #240 overall.

according to the register-guard, both aaron jones and brando tessar are draft eligible this year. tessar's shoulder injury might make teams wary, but jones could very well be taken early-ish, especially if he's classified as a catcher.
