Kellogg has pitched INCREDIBLE. Amazing for a freshman. He threw a no-hitter to give the Beavers their first Pac-12 loss. Oregon now 8-1, first in the Pac-12.
Thanks to this game, Ducks first in Pac-12

I've been more focused on Oregon bball lately, but it is great to see Oregon starting off strong in Pac-12 play. Oregon's only series losses have come against top 5 teams, and Oregon has young pitchers that are continuing to improve. I don't know if Oregon will win the conference, but they definitely will be a factor.
Going to miss the Maehl Man

thorpe and irvin are starting to outpace reed. they've been unhittable lately... and i guess "starting to" is the wrong phrase. they've flat out been better most of the season.
not sure what was going on with heineman this weekend, he didn't start friday/saturday but was used as a defensive replacement. with thomas out for two of the games this weekend, one would have thought we could have used all the capable bats we had on deck. // shrug
we have omaha pitching, but what's going to get us there are our bats. for a while all we had was healy and alto, then thomas starting picking it up, then tolman emerged and took away hambright's spot. now baumgartner and graham are rounding into form. baumgartner's got a lot of strength, graham had a wicked start but has seen his BA go up over 100 points the last 10 days. we need steven packard to come around. if garlick can come back by the end of the year, great.

Wonder if we will see Jones crack the weekend rotation eventually. Here are the pitching stats so far:oregontrack wrote:thorpe and irvin are starting to outpace reed. they've been unhittable lately... and i guess "starting to" is the wrong phrase. they've flat out been better most of the season.

Horton said Jones will more then likely stay in the bullpen all season
