Hell of an honor for Altman, and it is well deserved. What he has done in his short time at Oregon is remarkable. Turning around basketball programs that are not traditionally elite is not an easy task, and he has made Oregon competitive every season. The mark of a great coach is when he can get good to great results even when many factors are stacked against the program, and he has done that. Oregon has had a lot of transfers, and has had to piece together rosters, but he's done a great job anyway. I can't wait to see what Oregon will look like when Altman doesn't have to consistently re-tool the roster.

That's really cool, well deserved. Definitely didn't expect him to win it but great to see them actually recognize a tremendous coaching job instead of just giving it to the coach of the most popular team.
