I hope he shows up and plays but his situation seems eerily familiar to Tyler Matzek's. Matzek showed up to Eugene, hanging out with the rest of the team, and then he signed with the Rockies like a few days later. With the new rules in place though, we won't have to wait as long with Krook to get a final decision.

In all fairness, would you blame him for walking away from the Marlins? They're the Raiders of MLB.

Well we'll see what happens. There's still another 2 weeks left till the signing deadline (July 12th). I read some report saying they did agree on money but Krook failed the physical. Not sure if that's accurate or not however it would be huge to get him on campus.

Looks like it's some type of shoulder issue that made the Marlins back out after the physical. Have to wonder how bad of an injury/issue it is to scare the Marlins but it'll still allow him to pitch in college.

If nothing else with UCLA winning it, it shows that pitching and defense are the keys to winning it all. Offense comes and goes but you can survive without it by manufacturing runs. We're pretty good at all those things..

BTW, Aaron Fitt at Baseball America has Oregon listed as one of his early favorites for Omaha next year. Pitching, defense and timely hitting, it can be done.

If Krook does get on campus and healthy, our pitching becomes ridiculously good.

Especially if the world series stays in the current ballpark.
