Chris Bosh B+ C+ C- A- B B

Remember him? Seems you don't always have to come out early in order develop. He has been destroying the ACC and they are more than happy to see the back of him now that his four year reign of terror is over. Despite not having the deepest of team, Bosh drug the Rambling Wreck all the way to the final four where he was upset by the unlikely Gonzaga Bulldogs. At the combine he looked so polished in so many areas, most scouts came away saying they would be shocked if he was not in the top three. An excellent overall offensive package anchors his skills while his defense is not lacking. His is maybe better at shutting down the outside shot as he is at shutting down the post. Not the strongest player in this class, but by no means weak, he is a monster to keep off the offensive glass. He played center in college, but his position is likely the 4 at the next level, he seems lost at the 3 so cannot be played anywhere but the 4 or 5. Scouts don't think he has too much left to do in the growth department, but they say immediately after he really doesn't need to. Safest bet in the class: scoring option and double-double machine for the next decade should be certain.

Leon Powe B+ C- F+ B+ B+ D

The other half of the Cal attack that got upended by cinderella Gonzaga in the round of 16. He is an offensive Juggernaut and is a nightmare to guard in the post. He is one of the best players in the class defensively as well as he is in the right place at the right time on both sides of the court. Most complete rebounder in the class and its not even close. Great strength and probably top five in that department in this class. very quick for his size, and very complete overall. Problem is he picked up a nasty injury in the final game of the tourney that required micro-fracture surgery. He will likely not be ready until after training camp this year. Will this hurt his future development, many scouts think so and have planted a massive red flag in his scouting profile (though it does get a little hard filing those reports given the big pole in the middle or the folder).

Shelden Williams C C C- C B B

Very solid rebounder out of Duke. His biggest asset he brings is his outstanding footwork on the glass. He has solid, albeit unspectacular upsied. His main issue is he is rather raw on the defensive e end and might be more of a SF in a PF body. Very solid outside look, but it is rather flat and doesn't start going in until until he is a step behind the three point line. The flat trajectory is due to his grounded shot as he has no lift in his legs whatsoever.

Renaldo Balkman B- C- D C+ B- B

The postman out of Scouth carolina has a very balance skillset. He will block a little, rebound a little and do all the little dirty work that makes a solid player. He has a nice little bag of tricks down low and his strenght is exactly where you want it to be to play post at the NBA level. He is like glue on his man down low and rarely does a defensive rebound escape his grasp. If scouts thought he has more potential we might be talking about a top pick, as it stands he has solid, but not special, upside.

Steve Novak C+ B+ F C- C+ B

One of the more unique players in this class. The postman out of Marquette has one of the purest strokes we here at draftwatch have seen in many years. Big Z or Sabas would be put to shame with how good this post's outside shot is. This cannon of a shot either goes in or caroms right back to him. Great overall offensive game, he may struggle against the strength of the nba as he has seemed to focus on skills over raw power. Scouts think he shoots a littler more than he should as he is rather selfish when the ball swings his way. His defense is rather poor overall but he doesn't gamble a ton so he doesn't often get beaten entirely.

A year or two after Bosh left, Tech went all the way to the title game- I think it's possible Tech woulda beaten Okafor and UConn had Bosh been there.
