According to Football Scoop, Oregon will hear from WSU's Jim Mastro within the next 24 hours about whether he's accepted Oregon's RB coach position.

Even though his RBs havent had a ton of rushing yards at Wazzu he's very highly regarded in the coaching community. He's also a game planner apparently.

If he joins, I could see Oregon running more plays out of the pistol formation, which he helped implement down at Nevada.

A bit from a 247 Cougar site article, looks like he is an innovative coach and good recruiter.

Mastro’s Cougar running backs in 2017 posted their second straight season with 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards -- the only two times that's been accomplished on a Leach-coached team, or in WSU program history.

In recruiting this cycle, Mastro ran the point on four of the 19 early signees in the 2018 class, all of whom are projected as potential future headliners: RB Max Borghi, safety D’Angelo McKenzie, DE/RUSH R.J. Stone, ATH Patrick Nunn.

Also hearing things about Bobby Williams from Alabama. Coached their TE and Special Teams for years before taking an "off-field" position. He wouldcoach TE and ST for us.

Also had head coaching experience at Michigan State, 1992-2002, with a 16–17 record overall.

Interesting. So if we get both him and Mastro we would only need an OL coach and a CB or OLB coach?

No one has any way of knowing, but I wonder if the sad ending to Tyler Hilinski's life will make any coach consider leaving Wazzu right now. Everyone has to do what is best for them and there family in the long run. Personally, it would be tough for me to leave those kids right now.

That's something I was thinking about too. It'd be kinda hard for someone to leave right now when such a tragedy has occurred. This tweet of his really makes you wonder where he's leaning now:
