All there is to know about Rider, well, not everything, but enough. First, they're from New Jersey, so a nice trip for them to get to MKA. They aren't very big, one player 6'9, they are young, it looks like the starting line-up consists of three freshmen and two sophomores. There are 6 players who average between 22-27 minutes per game, one guy gets 14, another 7. Rider shoots 46.5 from the floor, Oregon, 45.1, quite a difference when it comes to 3's, Oregon, 35.2%, Rider, 66.7, Oregon has attempted about 500 more 3's than did Rider. Rider outrebounds the Ducks, 39.4 to 39.2 and about one turnover more than Oregon, 13.3- 11.8.

Rule changes in the NIT
...The experimental rules that will be used in this year's NIT include the three-point lines extended to 22 feet, 1.75 inches, the free-throw lanes widened to 16 feet, games split into four 10-minute quarters instead of two halves and a shot clock that will reset to 20 seconds after an offensive rebound.
Along with the changes to the periods, fouls will reset each quarter and teams will shoot two free-throws beginning with the fifth foul of each quarter.

This is going to be a bit weird for both the teams and fans, especially with all the changes adding even more lines onto the floor.Merganzer wrote:http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2761 ... point-line

I don't understand the widening of the key at all. I'd like to see MORE post play, not less.

Yeah, I might have to watch just to see how the rule changes affect the game.GrantDuck wrote:I don't understand the widening of the key at all. I'd like to see MORE post play, not less.

Rider is similar to Wazzu in metrics. Which means they suck but will probably give this Oregon team a tough game.
