Re: Mariners
Mariners can't get the big hit, besides back to back HR's by Seager & Healy, snap their 8 game W streak, lose 7-4.

Ms playing well lately, despite losing to angels yesterday. Only 1.5 back from Astros.

Re: Mariners
that was a big win. we play two more series with anaheim relatively soon, and we didn't want to give them any momentum by allowing them to come into seattle to take a series. ohtani and richards coming back is a big boost for them, although who knows if ohtani will pitch anytime soon.
to say nothing of the fact that oakland just isn't losing these days. hope for a cleveland sweep this weekend.
anyway, like i said, that was a big win. gonzalez didn't have his best stuff but he battled. it's never good having haniger out of the lineup. nice to be able to win games when things don't set up perfectly. many, many mariner teams in years past would have folded under similar circumstances.

Re: Mariners
Well, hopefully the Mariners got whatever was ailing them last night out of their system. 7-1 loss to the Rockies, and it seemed even worse. Felix has give up at leat one HR in the first inning of his starts this season, so that wasn't a surprise last night. But, it wasn't only HR's or Felix, the Rockies teed off on every pitcher the Mariners threw at them last night.

Re: Mariners
Mariners 6 Rockies 4. A 5 RBI performance by Ryon Healy gets the Mariners over the Rockies. Diaz gest his 35th save, and now has struck out the side in consecutive appearances.

Re: Mariners
Cruz & Haniger make the AL Team, along with Diaz pitching, no Paxton or Segura, who is in the top 3 in batting average.

the every-team-gets-an-All-Star-representative rule needs to die.
salvador perez: .213 BA, .255 OBP, 11 HR, 34 RBI -- ALL STAR
jean segura: .330 BA, .358 OBP, 7 HR, 47 RBI -- not an all star

Re: Mariners
The Mariners are in an intriguing position right now. They are at the Angels for a three game series, meanwhile Oakland, winners of 8-10 are at Houston for a four game series. If the Mariners win, whatever happens between the A's & the Astros is great; but, if they lose; Mariners trail the Astros by 3 1/2, lead the A's by 6 1/2, things would get messy.
