Re: Braxton Burmeister to Transfer
If he leaves, there's another potential scholarship open. It does leave Oregon in a position where the only remaining backups to Herbert are FR who've never thrown a collegiate pass. Oregon will really need to hit the QB position hard in the 2020 class.

I felt like we should have gone after jayden Daniels as well as Millen this year just for depth purposes but so long as we get DJ next year we will be good.

Re: Braxton Burmeister to Transfer
These days it doesn't seem most programs can keep more than 3-4 scholarship QBs without someone needing to transfer. Oregon is in that position mainly because of all the misses they've had as of late due to poor development and coaching turnover. Unless they decide to take 2 QBs in next year's class or welcome in a transfer, it appears they'll be at 3 scholarship QBs for the next couple seasons.

Re: Braxton Burmeister to Transfer
We’re currently at 84 scholarships, so there’s exactly one spot open. I wouldn’t be shocked if a QB that would have to sit out a year anyway transferred here.

Coaches could oversign, expecting additional attrition; Scoopduck podcast said to expect 5 more incoming players. We'll see how it goes.

Re: Braxton Burmeister to Transfer
The least surprising news. Having a back-up with experience is better than nothing, but I think we've all seen enough of Burmeister's arm to know he was never going to play a significant role for us. Best of luck to him.

I expect: billy Gibson, Demetri Burch, Daewood Davis, darrian Felix, Cody shear, Bryson young, Sam poutasi to all be potential transfer candidates to open up more spots.

Unless they graduate from their current school, then they have to sit anyway.Hoagduck wrote:We’re currently at 84 scholarships, so there’s exactly one spot open. I wouldn’t be shocked if a QB that would have to sit out a year anyway transferred here.

Jhop says they'll sign 5 more, plus a grad transfer or twolukeyrid13 wrote:I expect: billy Gibson, Demetri Burch, Daewood Davis, darrian Felix, Cody shear, Bryson young, Sam poutasi to all be potential transfer candidates to open up more spots.
They're at -1 if BB leaves, so I figure 5-6 guys get processed
Gibson— not so sure, we need S depth
Felix— highly doubt he's processed, future contributor
Shear—processed
Young—Processed
Burch—processed
Poutasi—processed
Davis—idk, could see the field if he can block
Could also see kampomoyer procesed

Re: Braxton Burmeister to Transfer
Judging by his Instagram story of him throwing some bombs with an emoji, I'm guessing he really felt the hate from the fans. Can't blame him, they were pretty brutal. Unfortunately his poor performances came at these poor seasons that didn't mean much yet the fans blame him. I still think everyone sees him as Jeff Lockie, unfairly and truly feels the Alamo Bowl hate stemming from it still.

His abilities are Lockie-ish. Luckily, he didn’t have anywhere near the pressure to win that Lockie did.

what do you mean by ‘processed’?Duckenstein wrote:Jhop says they'll sign 5 more, plus a grad transfer or twolukeyrid13 wrote:I expect: billy Gibson, Demetri Burch, Daewood Davis, darrian Felix, Cody shear, Bryson young, Sam poutasi to all be potential transfer candidates to open up more spots.
