IMO, based on what's reported, I think it's more than fair to drag the university for mishandling the situation. I have yet to see much that signifies hiring Lombardi herself was a mistake.

100% agree!

Lombardi is a fantastic coach and a home run type hire with the addition that she is a pitching specialist. I think this is more reflective of the AD than her.

I can't stand your mentality. GFY if you try to tell me what to wear on my own time. Lombardi is clearly incompetent as a player's coach and while people love to apologize for her authoritarian/judgmental BS, I don't. I think she's a personality cancer and deserves to be fired ASAP. Rumors about dress codes, religious overtones, criticism of what player's actually wore, criticism of player's family values, put downs of program success by comparing them to Oklahoma are just some of the rumors... She's had her chance and has failed it already. This is one of the WORST coaching performances to start a program I have EVER seen.

People don't think this will trickle down to recruiting? People think White's last two classes will stick around?

Sievers was a national top 10 recruit. I don't really know why she would want to stay.

Hate to break it to you but in the recent articles about the program, the players all said that the new dress code and class checks were not the driving factor in them leaving. So quit getting all huffy over a non-starter.

I realize people are reluctant to blame the new coach, but she's very clearly not doing anything to circle the wagons and get buy-in.

People who've talked about her coaching style (either through Oklahoma, Team USA, or camps/clinics) have said that it's intense and demanding but not in anyway that would be considered dangerous, abusive, or impersonal. Past players have raved about the instruction they've received from her while also saying how caring she is off the field. Just seems the players she had at Oklahoma could handle this style but it was too much of a change from White. That inability to see that difference and adjust may be her biggest weakness so far.

True, adjusting is fine. But a coach can't adjust so much that they are leading in their predecessor's style rather than their own. It appears that the players weren't open to any of her ideas; but it seems they were so angry that White was gone it would not have mattered who the new coach was.

Acting tough? What is with you? I don't like people telling me what to do based on their religious morality. You can GFY too for not understanding the ethical frustration I have with this coach and her apologists.

The quotes from Mike White in recent articles seem to reflect a lot of resentment towards Oregon and the AD. As he was apparently very close to his players it might be he conveyed his feelings to them, intentional or otherwise, making it difficult for whoever followed. I don't imagine we will ever know.

The problem here is your opinion does not equal factual evidence. Again, of the players who have announced transfers this week, all played a full fall schedule under Lombardi, left for a month for winter break and returned for winter classes, chose to play this season under her by taking part in the first week of formal practices, and then departed abruptly upon the news breaking regarding the administration's handling of Mike White. Specifically, Mia Camuso made a public statement not long ago that was still a Duck, yet she announced today she'd be leaving. How you're attributing that to Lombardi -- who she gave a vote of confidence to not long ago by making her public statement -- and not to the administration's handling of White's departure is a question only you can answer.

Any "authoritarian regime" is, at this point, a talking point you've convinced yourself of without evidence.
