Patterson
This is a bummer. I felt like he just needed a little more time and he was going to be a huge contributor.

Yeah. Francis wasn't going to play much so I see why he left.
CJ, I kinda get seemed like he was homesick+Covid...
This one is a head scratcher. He was playing so well down the stretch last year.

Re: Patterson
That's a big loss. What makes it strange is that Prehm is saying it wasn't due to playing time or being upset with the coaching staff. That means there's a little more to the story than we currently know. They're really going to need to hope that Figueroa and/or Estrada can get waivers to play this season.
Here's a look at what the roster currently looks like:
SR: F Omoruyi, G Duarte, G Hardy, G/F Figueroa
JR: F Williams, G Richardson
SO: C Dante, G Estrada, F Lawson
FR: G Terry, C Kepnang, F Wur
Walk-ons: G Ionescu, G Osborn, G Johnson, G Reichle

Re: Patterson
Was he going to step away from the game for a while? Maybe. If it wasn't for playing time it might have been a family issue or just distance. Weird. Almost all our transfers you could in a way seem coming. This just seems... odd.

Re: Patterson
Do any of the SR's have any shot at the NBA or would they possibly come back for a "Super-Senior" year next year?
Hardy seems like 1 possibility if his brother were to commit.

Re: Patterson
AWWW....He looked like an NBA player in the making. Huge bummer.
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Re: Patterson
Would imagine WRich and Dante will both probably be off to the NBA after this season as well.
Depending on how well he plays this season, could see Eugene coming back to play with his brother.

Re: Patterson
With the Bittle and Kepnang in the recruiting class and 2019 signee Isaac Johnson likely coming in from his LDS mission obligations, the frontcourt is solid. Matt Prehm was saying in a recent podcast that whatever remaining spots they have will be spent on transfers and HS/JUCO recruits.GrantDuck wrote:21 roster is going to need some wing players.

Re: Patterson
What else could they use the spots on beyond transfers, HS players or Juco recruits? Am I missing some context, or does that prediction provide zero insight?greenyellow wrote:With the Bittle and Kepnang in the recruiting class and 2019 signee Isaac Johnson likely coming in from his LDS mission obligations, the frontcourt is solid. Just that Altman and his staff will try any and all avenues to fill their wing/guard needs.droop10 wrote:What else could they use the spots on beyond transfers, HS players or Juco recruits?
