Ducks hosted top transfer Dalton Knecht

Post by UOducksTK1 »

20.2 ppg 7.2 rpg 48% FG and 38% 3PT last season at Northern Colorado.

I would argue, Dalton is currently the most important piece out there for Oregon right now. This and a true SG who can also shoot well from 3 are essential.

He just visited this week, and I'm hoping things went well.

Really hope we can start competing for top transfers. Filling out our roster with players off the portal scrap heap is getting old.

Being frank, just what the hell is the benefit for Uncle Phil in the age of the NIL to have spent the last 25 years building up the UO facilities that he isn't throwing 25-50M/year into Division St. It wasn't like he and Nike weren't involved in the AAU circuit all those years so it sure isn't a moral issue.

It also seems like the Portal is where you'd get the most guarantee on your $, either keeping a proven player from leaving or in snagging one from another school.

Some rumblings of a commitment on 247. Not sure who it is, but Knecht is a good guess.

I do wonder if his scoring and skillset will transfer at the same level when going from the Big Sky to the Pac-12.

12ppg and 35% or better 3 point shooting is enough for us.

Reading Tennessee forums and they seem more confident then Oregon boards right now that Knecht will commit to Vols.

Hopefully they are wrong, but we should know soon. Knecht is an absolute baller and would change our team drastically.

Adding Knecht would give them a solid 10-man roster. It'd then be a question of who they get to round out the final three spots as it'll likely be a combination of another transfer or two and Rigsby/Butler.

He picked Tennessee over Oregon. Too bad because he would have fit perfectly with what Altman needs.

That’s a big bummer, he may have been the best player on our roster had he joined us.

Oh well..

Astonishing Dana can’t get any transfer in the last few years that can consistently hit an outside shot. Just don’t understand it. As mentioned before, especially when he called out that weakness in his recent teams. Not recruiting the portal hard enough?

Good shooters are a hot commodity once they hit the portal so the competition has been stiff. Somehow they have to get better at identifying shooters via recruiting since the transfer portal isn't working that well.
