Skippy got fired.
He will coach the P12 Championship game though.

UCLA, ASU, AZ, WSU are ALL replacing head coaches this year? Damn, that is some serious attrition. I will be amazed if we make it through this offseason with our coaching staff in tact.

I think we could lose someone like Frost or Neal, but it's not like the staff is going to absolutely raided.

Now this is a job that I think Belotti would be interested in.

And how many of his long time assistants would he try to bring with him? It should be interesting.RanDux wrote:Now this is a job that I think Belotti would be interested in.

Re: Skippy got fired.
I'm not entirely convinced our staff would jump ship to follow Bellotti. I remember some stories suggesting that Bellotti was somewhat of a micromanager, and all aspects of Oregon's game seem to have blossomed under Chip. To me that suggests that CK fosters a better working environment for these assistants. I definitely don't see Alliotti leaving... Chip has had his back like crazy! And with the Ducks being one of the nation's top running teams, why would Greatwood leave?
Willie Taggart is a dick.

I could see them leaving for position upgrades. But, Belotti vs. National Contender at the same position seems like a no-brainer.

Campbell is one of my favorites too, I'd cry if he ever left.snapt wrote:Greatwood would be the biggest loss of any assistant.
Neal and Pellum next two after him and Greatwood.

I guess I'm just frustrated with how our O-line performs in big games.

Ken Woody touched on that in his review of the USC game...Phenom wrote:I guess I'm just frustrated with how our O-line performs in big games.
Two weeks ago, eight of the most highly penalized teams in college football were in the Pac-12. It appears that the commissioner has told the referees to keep their flags in the pockets as obvious penalty situations have been cut back drastically. USC had only six penalties for 30 yards despite many situations where tacklers were leading with their heads and Oregon’ s offensive line was holding nearly every play. In one situation, a lineman was credited with a “bear hug” by the referee and in another, the left tackle mugged his man in full view of everyone, being buffeted with a flurry of yellow flags. The Ducks are really operating on thin ice with the amount of holding they are doing, particularly that of the center, who is consistently hooking and holding his man on running plays.

A few days later he also wrote...
Oregon’s offensive line has provided good pass protection this year, but in the run game has become sloppy in the use of their hands, getting away with blatant holds on key plays in the Washington, Stanford and USC games. Well, not getting away with all holds, as the Ducks were nicked twice against the Trojans, including one the referee described over the microphone as a “bear hug.” It’s lucky that Pac-12 referees are looking the other way on holding right now (and for many other teams, too); it has seemed to lead to bad habits, not to mention the problem of how a crew of officials from another conference might call things differently in a post-season bowl game down the line.

When we move away from Pac-12 officials we tend to have problems. The O-line picked up a couple of quick penalties at the beginning of the LSU game, and I believe the same happened at both the NC and the Rose Bowl.

It isn't the penalties that bother me. It is when they get absolutely dominated. They are a young group though and Greatwood has been a fantastic coach.

Re: Skippy got fired.
An employee of mine that went to UCLA seems to think they getting Chris Peterson. He says that is the buzz around the timing of the firing. Drop him now so they can lock up the next guy asap.
I don't know where he got his info, but that would sure be interesting if true.
Sorry about any typos, writing on a blackberry makes it hard to check. Especially after my 1 year old broke my glasses in two.
