Who to root for during conference tournaments
(All assumptions are made assuming Oregon wins at least two Pac-12 tournament games. I think everyone can agree that if we don't, we are most certainly out)
ROOT FOR BOLD
Mar 5 Drexel vs VCU - This is a tough one, but VCU has the better resume, so ROOT FOR VCU.
Mar 6 Charlotte vs St. Joesph's - As long as St. Joe's doesn't go to the A-10 finals, IMO nothing to worry about here.
Mar 6 Seton Hall vs Providence - It's like Seton Hall doesn't want to play in the tournament. They were pretty much a lock until they lost to two bad teams. Another loss here, will be a dagger to Seton Hall. You can't lose to three of the worst teams in a row in the Big East at 19-12 and get in.
Mar 7 USF vs Villanova - USF is still on the bubble.
Mar 7 Seton Hall vs Louisville - A loss here, and an Oregon 2 wins would put both teams in a very similar situation. If Seton Hall wins, they are locked in.
Mar 8 USF vs Notre Dame - USF is in better shape after beating Villy.
Mar 8 Texas vs Iowa State - A loss here will push Oregon over Texas, but a Texas win probably means they are in.
Mar 8 Minnesota vs Northwestern - I want to say NW is out here, but everyone is in love with that #12 in the loss column. I think I can finally say, Northwestern is out with a loss against Minny.
Mar 8 Miami vs Georgia Tech - They are in an Oregon-like position. Probably need to win at least two to have a solid shot.
Mar 8 Georgia vs Mississippi State - Can't lose to bad teams like this, go bulldogs! or rather go Georgia!
Mar 8 NC State vs Boston College - NC State should walk by here, but they'd have to beat Virginia to get good look at getting in.
Mar 8 Colorado State vs TCU - Colorado State is looking good right now, but a loss to TCU could shake things up.
Mar 9 St. Joseph's vs St. Bonaventure - St. Joe's could still get in..
Mar 9 Xavier vs Dayton - Need Xavier to lose as soon as possible
Mar 9 Tennessee vs Ole Miss/Auburn - How the heck did Tenn finish 2nd in the SEC? If they got in over us...
Also it couldn't hurt to root against Uconn and WVU. Both are probably in, but if Uconn losses to DePaul, that could change. (WVU faces the winner of Uconn/DePaul). Go DePaul twice?
And for the small conferences root for the best teams-
Atlantic 10 - Saint Louis / Temple
Big West - Long Beach State
Conference USA - Southern Miss / Memphis
MWC - San Diego State / New Mexico / UNLV
WAC - Nevada (outside chance of them getting an at-large, but still root for them)

VCU, which is good, but Drexel is still in according to some brackets. Pretty ridiculous with their like 250 sos and 65-70 rpi.
The next three games are HUGE. If Seton Hall and Xaiver can lose, that would do wonders for the Ducks. That would make me feel a lot better if we only won 2 pac-12 tournament games.

I tend to root for Providence anyway for some reason in Big East play so it'd be cool for them to win tonight and help the Ducks out. Iowa State definitely has a very good change of helping us out tomorrow.

Thursday, but yes I agree. I'd smile for so long if Providence wins today.canaduck wrote:I tend to root for Providence anyway for some reason in Big East play so it'd be cool for them to win tonight and help the Ducks out. Iowa State definitely has a very good change of helping us out tomorrow.
