Re: San Francisco @ Oregon (2 game series)
they're 14-20. just skimming through their 2012 season, they look like they have some decent weekend pitching, but they don't string a lot of runs together. which would be nice for us, since gold may or may not pitch (looked like he may have injured his hand saturday?) and we might be putting together a by-committee bullpen plan. i imagine jordan spencer will get a starting nod for one of the games.
they've lost 8 of their last 9.

0-0, bot 1
scott heineman goes from third base to starting pitcher for the opener. he gets the dons to go 1-2-3 in the top of the 1st.

He walked one, but he got caught stealing. I was nervous about Heineman pitching, not knowing anything about him, but so far he's pitched 2 hitless innings.oregontrack wrote:0-0, bot 1

sounds like he was a reliever in high school. his senior year he pitched 25 innings, striking out 22 w/ a 2.32 era.

san fran picks up their first hit w/ 1 out in the 3rd, heineman is off the bump and jordan spencer comes in.

USF up 2-1 after 3. Heineman surrenders one hit, pulled in middle of the 3rd.

I was surprised they pulled Heineman. They must have wanted to limit his pitch count.oregontrack wrote:2-1 dons, bot 3

ugly, but a better outcome than the alternative.
