Projected for 5th in the javelin did not advance to the final round, finishing a disappointing 14th.

Another freshman, Dakotah Keys, is in 16th place after eight events in the decathlon. Form charts had him placing 8th for a point. Based on form charts losing 5 points would drop the Duck men out of the top 10.

Sam finished 7th in the Oympic Trials. Good to see him bounce back.

Correction, that was the prelims. He just finished 2nd in the finals with a throw of 265' 1," which would have placed him 2nd in the NCAAs. Unfortunately he needed 269' to meet the A standard, so no Olympics for him.

IIRC. even though Crouser has not acheived the qualifying standard yet, he has the opportunity to compete elsewhere over the next few weeks, and potentially make the team, should he uncork the throw of his life, and meet or beat 269'.
