EUGENE, Ore. -- Ashton Eaton won the 100 meters, the long jump and led off Oregon’s clinching 4x400 meter relay team as No. 1 Oregon defeated No. 16 UCLA 84-79 in a scintilating dual meet before 5,039 fans Saturday at Historic Hayward Field.

I casually follow track and field but am really excited to see the Ducks possibly win both the PAC-10 and National Outdoor Championships to add to their Cross Country and Indoor titles!!

Yes and it wouldn't have come down to the final event (4X400 Relay) if the coaching decisions had been a little more realistic throughout the meet! I don't know how many times I saw an event where we only had one participant when we could have easily had 3 or more...but hey when you're coach is good enough to know that the other team is gonna drop the baton in the final relay I guess you don't have to worry! GO DUCKS!

Ashton keeps impressing me day in and day out.

I think he'll be one of the front runners in the 2012 decathlon.

Our Track & Field team is awesome I'm proud as hell for them!
