Loyd says he hyper-extended his knee

Loyd left the game in the closing minutes after colliding with two Washington players while jumping for a pass. Following the game Loyd said it was a hyper-extended left knee, which was initially cause for concern because he’d missed two months his junior year in high school with a similar injury. But he didn’t believe this injury was as “severe”.

“I think I’ll be fine. I don’t think I’ll miss any games or anything like that,” he said.

I can't imagine the Ducks will let him play before he has been properly evaluated.

Right after having his best game since Artis goes out, he goes down. Hope he's back for the wazzu game and plays like he did against Washington.

FWIW, Adam Jude thinks Loyd will play against WSU.

Adam Jude: Loyd said last night that he thought he'd be "fine." Trainers still needed to do a full assessment of his hyperextended knee, but he'd had a similar (and more serious) injury in high school and this one didn't feel the same.

Adam Jude: I'd expect Loyd to play vs. WSU. He's a tough, tough dude.
