rough timing getting them right after osu handed them their lunch, but... hope for 45 degrees and rain this weekend. the desert schools are highly ineffective playing ball in the cold. and god forbid they get wet.

oregon's record against defending national champions: 2-1. let's add some more to the win column this weekend.

not sure we have anyone to replace him. horton has shown he's willing to swap kids out if they're not hitting, but unlike positions like 3B and C -- where hambright and graham have given way to tolman and chase -- i don't know if horton is comfortable with anyone else.

regarding last night, it was a nice win. konnor wade is a really good pitcher who was instrumental in arizona winning the national title last year. he caught fire in the postseason. we got 11 guys on base via a hit/walk, only 2 runs came out of it but we had some good scoring opportunities. still searching for that consistent big hit. baumgartner had the hit of the night on a go-ahead ground rule double over the center fielder's head in the 6th.

reed was fantastic, that was probably his best outing of the year. christian jones shut the door in the 7th/8th, and sherfy didn't mess around in the 9th.

some big line-up tweaks last night, thomas got moved to lead off, tolman moved to clean up, heineman moved down to 5th.

another excellent outing by thorpe, who was never really in any danger. small ball got us the lead, then healy slammed the door shut. we *finally* got that big nail-in-the-coffin hit.
