We've jumped on the information superhighway and joined this "net"! Who knows if this thing will catch on or not but we are proud be riding the wave. The Shawn Bradley caper:

Seems Bradley's religious duties hung up his career aspirations for the time being. While it was expected that the freshman BYU phenom was going to enter the draft, his name never materialized. Word it that he has been spending this last year on mission in Uganda of all places. If rumors are to believed, there was some trouble with a local warlord but it seems that his companion, who was only identified as "Arnold", has since cleared up any issues. Bradley's prospects still look bright and is expected be on his mission for the rest of this year and into next year. We will keep up with any updates on his situation.

Jason the Kidd:

The Sophomore out of Berkley have been having an outstanding season. While he has not been the top scoring threat for the bears of Cal he has been literally filling every other part of the box score. While it is still preseason, he is averaging 10 pts, 9.5 asts and 7 rebs. Many are calling him the second coming of Magic as he is averaging a triple double nearly ever third game. Magic, currently on the raptors, had a similar type campaign his lat year at Michigan State going 17/8/8. There is speculation that while Kidd is only in his second year and could go for another two, he may consider jumping to the next level. While he does look a little raw at times, scouts love what he can bring to the PG position in the rebounding. Many close to him think he values being picked highely, so depending who else (say members the Fab 5 for example) enters the draft, he may stick around for another year in Berkley so he can ensure the draft slotting he feels he deserves.

The new President of the NCAA, Cedric Dempsey (who took over for Dick Schultz at the end of the 93 season), has called a press conference. It has been scheduled for 12PM eastern time at NCAA HQ.

President Dempsey stepped up the microphone, his hair seemed noticeably frayed : "I am here today to respond to the rumors that have been coming out lately. About six months ago, it came to our attention that a booster, Ed Martin may have been providing free vehicles, monetary and other benefits to members of the Michigan Athletic Department. As we investigated, simply put, we found a lack of institutional control. We found evidence of impermissible benefits given out to student athletes at the University of Michigan. After cooperation with Michigan Athletic Department and Michigan District Attorney, I am here to announce the findings. Over the past two years, Ed Martin handed out two-hundred thousand dollars in impermissible benefits as a way to launder money from an illegal gambling ring. I have consulted with Infractions Committee and they have issued a ruling.
The University of Michigan will be: placed under academic probation, vacate any wins and titles the involved players participated in including the 1992 Big-10 football title and 1992 Rose Bowl victory, 1993 NCAA Basketball Championship, and 1993 Hall of Fame Bowl victory. In addition the football program will be docked three scholarships per year and the basketball team one scholarship per year until the 1999 season. Both programs will also be subject to a three year probationary period.

The following athletes from the football and basketball programs will be banned from all NCAA competitions for life and all association with the following players will be severed until the year 2013:
Todd Collins, Juwan Howard, Ray Jackson, Trezelle Jenkins, Jimmy King, Ty Law, Jalen Rose, Maurice Taylor, Chris Webber, and Tyrone Wheatley"
