Re: Regional: Oregon vs Iowa (Fri 11 am ESPN 3)
it will be VERY interesting to see what horton does next. he's never one to shy away from experimenting with the rotation in the playoffs; i think last year was the ONLY year we've made a regional where he didn't mix things up.
assuming mizzou state beats canisius, do you throw connor harber against canisius later today?? he pitched very well in a (more-or-less) do-or-die game @ oregon state two weeks ago. you can then throw david peterson, who has been fantastic his last five outings, against the loser of mizzou state/iowa tomorrow morning, and then josh graham against the winner of mizzou state/iowa tomorrow night. at that point, assuming we can win these games, it's one of those throw-everybody bullpen games on monday. start paddon, irvin can probably come back and pitch an inning or two, expect longer outings from stiles, nogosek, and cleavinger.
i think it's worth thinking about. it's always a gamble, but conventional wisdom is always split down the middle on these things. obviously you have to win today to play tomorrow, but i liked what i saw out of harber against the beavs.

oregon gives harber a 4-0 lead in the first. heineman with a 2 run double, chase hits a 2 run bomb.

After losing 14-1 earlier today, I'm not sure how much fight Canisius actually has in them now.

Heineman has been hot the last few weeks, two doubles so far today in only two at bats

7-0 oregon, top 5
i think harber's been outstanding today. his job is to pound the zone, he's going to give up some hits but he's in total control through four.
maybe mizzou state/iowa can play 15 innings later today and exhaust their bullpens.

Oregon struggling in the 5th now as they've given up 4 runs as Paddon has had to come in now.

Ducks up 9-4 as Oregon has gotten real aggressive in the 6th with their base running, as they've stolen 2 bases so far.
