2006 PGs

Post by Zyme »

Rajon Rondo C+ C B B D+ A

Rondo is one of those players that hearkens back to the era of Naismith himself. He is a pure, pass first point guard that does what damage he can from inside. Almost a slasher in his makeup he can make devastatingly effective passes from the narrowest of window. What he cannot do is shoot outside, he seems to have zero touch from that range. Some scouts think he can find one as he matures, but most doubt it. Very careful with the ball in his hands, you will rarely worry about the turnover with this kid. Steal vunderkind. Great upside, probably the most of any guard in this class.

Kyle Lowry C+ B- C C D+ B

Almost the polar opposite of his compatriot Rondo. Whereas Rondo is pass first and inside, Lowry is shoot first and selfish. He has really struggled with turnovers in his college career and will likely here as well. Scouts think he has solid potential but probalby would have behooved him to stay in college for another year or two. He has a great jump shot and very solid range. He ran track in high school and in college and it shows ont he court. Solid above the rim, he is a little on the skinny side and needs to bulk up for the riggors of the NBA game.

Jordan Farmar C C+ C+ C+ C B

The outside threat for the Cal attack, Farmar is a very quick and wily on the court. Very consistent with the ball in his hands. Great looking jump shot and quite good on the boards for a guard his biggest millstone is his very poor outside look and his lack of an inside game. Very balanced besided with solid potential, probably a later pick but anyone that draft him should not have to worry about him losing you any game, wont win you game but wont lose them either.

Jose Barea C B- C C C A

Developmental guard out of Spain via Northeastern University. Very good looking outside game with excellent upside, he is extemely careless with the ball and may quickly see himself at SG. Very solid passing but really could use some years developing before he will be able to contribute.

Pooh Jeter C B- D+ C- C- C

As good at playing PG as his name would suggest.
