Yes, I keep hearing that Smith has a knee injury, though apparently not season-ending.

It is a "knee tweak"...not an ACL. It has been bothering him for a long time, thus no playing time. The rumor is that it is not season ending, but they have decided to shut him down and attempt to get a medical redshirt for him.

He also has a history of serious knee injuries, so I'm sure he's ok with being cautious.
