Why would Casey leave? He plays a ton here, even if he doesn't start, and he's never going to the NBA.

We had 43 rebounds, Carolina had 43.

People will fixate on it, but the TO's and poor outside shooting cost us the game today.
Deceitful stat though. Carolina had a bunch of second chance points. And because they had so many offensive rebounds, our overall rebounding went up because they took a lot more shots than us.

But yes, turnovers and just poor shooting as a whole are just as much to blame.

That would be a pretty shitty thing to do to Sorkin. Can coaches do that? Just not renew their scholarship the next season?

They can. Scholly's are one year contracts. But it's very bad form unless the kid quits trying. I don't see that happening. However, coaches have been known to have a heart to heart with players to encourage/help them to find a better situation for all parties.

Another Nemec update on McCoy, just saying that Evan Daniels thinks that the Ducks are in pretty good shape.

Kind of funny to see Brown apparently in McCoy's ear about coming to Oregon when he's also wanting Bell, Brooks and Dorsey to stay (http://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/in ... ar_si.html), which would mean, barring any other scholarship player leaving for whatever reason, that there wouldn't be a scholarship available for McCoy.

There's a lot of rumblings on the other sites that suggest that there will be a lot of turnover, and not just referring to the big three. Names like KBW, Sorkin, and Benson keep popping up as potential transfer candidates. Those guys are more second hand info, but Prehm, Erik, and Jhop have all said to expect a lot of turnover.

It's looking like the program will have the amount of turnover they had going from the 2014 season to the 2015 season (albeit for far different reasons.) Anyone hoping for a repeat of this past year is likely going to have to wait a couple seasons since there'll be minimal experience and leadership. Sucks that just when we thought Altman had the program on the rise, he's going to have to deal with another rebuild of sorts.

true...the difference is the talent coming in is better then before especially if McCoy comes here. But we will be young.
So there maybe a drop off. I still think the future will be bright.

There'll be a bit of a drop off (obviously), but if we get some of the guys we're rumoured to be in it for, I don't think the drop off will be that much. If we get McCoy, Landale, and Al Freeman, all of them we're in the game for, then that's a pretty damn good haul.

I am sure the fans at Ariz, Kentucky, Duke, NC think the same thing omg all our best players
are leaving then in comes a top 5 recruiting class and they are still at the top. This is where Dana
is getting Oregon. Troy Brown really helps get us there as a five star. Now we land some of the others
then were in good shape. Just gotta believe Dana will keep us there.

Have to think if Oregon has lots of holes, Altman will dip into the JUCO ranks again so he has some college experience coming in and can spread the scholarships out a bit more.

well 247 has a new thread titled "Big big McCoy update" and has 25 upvotes, so obviously some great news for us in there.

It's probably just Prehm reposting the "down to one or two schools" quote that's all over the internet today. I don't think he has any insider info on this one.

I think Sorkin transfers/leaves either way. Kind of like Kendall Small last year, it would just be in everyone's best interest. He's not going to play anything other than walk-on minutes. He's not good enough to ever be a contributor, but he has the size and touch to dominant at an NAIA school or something.

Down to Oregon and Michigan State

Michigan State folks think he's all Sparty.

Oregon folks think he's all Duck.
