Re: With Graham out at ASU,
Greater expectations yet want to hire someone like Herm Edwards that would almost certainly fail?

I actually would like to see Mack Brown at ASU. I think he has one last run in him to coach again. He probably would accept 4 years contract then call it end afterward.

What's strange with this firing...is that the AD fired ONLY the Graham and kept all of the assistants. The new HC is required to infuse the old staff with the new coaching staff. WTH! Who's gonna wanna work with an AD under those conditions?

That right there is a clear sign the AD is an idiot.polyduck wrote:What's strange with this firing...is that the AD fired ONLY the Graham and kept all of the assistants. ESPN just scrolled Herm Edwards will interview with asu this week. This has to be troll bait right?

I kind of assumed it might be their way of fulfilling the Rooney Rule but if they were truly after Sumlin, he would also fulfill that. So IDK.TualatinDuck wrote:ESPN just scrolled Herm Edwards will interview with asu this week. This has to be troll bait right?

Re: With Graham out at ASU,
Herm Edwards is going to be ASU's next HC. Apparently the ASU AD used to be Edwards' agent back when he was an NFL HC so there's the connection.

Re: With Graham out at ASU,
Interesting. What's amazing is he's only coached a few years of college football, and that was as a DB coach at San Jose State. And his NFL coaching career gives you very little to be excited about.
IMO kinda risky hire, but I think there's potential. I doubt Herm does much before he's fired in 5 years.

Re: With Graham out at ASU,
So it looks like ASU's plan of keeping Graham's staff and Herm Edwards being more of a CEO-type is falling through as OC Billy Napier is taking the UL-Lafayette HC job while DC Phil Bennett is headed to Texas A&M as their DC.

What a mess that hire is already turning out to be.
