Come on guys, we can move on from the past couple of staffs and how divisive they were to the fanbase. It's a new day.
Duckenstein is right. For a very long time, I was a total Helf apologist.

I'm a few hours late to the party but having just watched the press conference, god DAMN am I excited. He is going to be an excellent ball coach.

Contract details starting to come out. $2.5M base and $10M if he wants to pull a Willie. Curious if the $400K they’re saving from Taggart’s salary to Cristobal will be added to the assistants pool?

A 10th assistant is being added so it likely will.

Hahaha well no one is hiring him before February 2019, I can promise you that. $10 million is crazy. I wonder what it drops to after that.

Edit: nevermind, here's the answer:
For comparison's sake, Willie's buyout was $3M this year and would have dropped by $500,000 each year after that.

True but I assumed the pool would already be increasing because of that.

This is exactly what I proposed a few days ago, a tiered buyout. No one wants that 10 mil buyout but if it’s not working out it drops off and Oregon won’t be stuck with a huge one if he gets canned. Great contract.

Fantastic contract! Good price and security for the university with just enough leverage for Cristobal to negotiate an extension if he's successful after a few years.

Agreeing to this buyout definitely points to the fact that he's dedicated to staying for the long run and committed to the school.

Welcome to the U on the west coast. This is what I was hoping would happen when it was announced he was joining our staff. Buckle up kids, it's going to be a wild ride.

To expand on that, if any of you watched Miami play in the 80's and early 90's. They had attitude, swagger, intimidating. They were the program you didn't want on your schedule. Catholics Vs convicts, he was on that team! So was Dwayne Johnson. We have an opportunity to learn from someone that has 3 NC rings, who wants to say no?

Anyone else catch the part where he said he sends his coaches away for 2 days to learn something new. Then they have to come back and give a presentation! This guy is no joke!
