I won't defend Pritchard's defense(his effort is really lazy sometimes..last year guys like Bell got on him, but this year nobody does),

...but I will defend his offense. Utah basically double teamed him every ball screen and in conference, your best player offensively(which PP is at this point) is going to get major attention from the opposing D. In that situation, guys like Brown(x2) and others need to step up. They have not done enough to help him. He was bad tonight and needs work on his mid range game and his assist #'s MUST be higher, but he's also not getting a lot of help.

..and just looking through some #'s..this team is most similar to Altman's 2nd team, which was an NIT team with Joseph, Singler, and Sim.

As for Dana, he's not perfect, but he's a top 10 coach in college basketball hands down. Unless you're getting top 10 classes every year or nobody ever leaves early, you're going to have down years where the chemistry just isn't there. Even Kentucky had an NIT year in 2013.

I think at this point, something like 19-12 (9-9) would be good for this team..and then hopefully get on a run in the Pac-12 tournament with the young guys coming together. We will probably be 1-4 after next week and the Ucla/Usc weekend will be critical to turn things around at home.

Meh hard game to watch.

Elijah Brown is so meh. Our boxing out in the 2nd half was ugly. Beavers got way too many second chance opportunities. We missed a lot of shots. Just not a very good team minus a few players honestly.

And so many dumb little fouls. Especially on a few near steals. Coach puts them in the right position but they don’t execute. Overall our team plays dumb. I literally think IQ of our two grad transfers is rock bottom.

Agree with everything, so consider all the above quoted, and what I'll propose here is ingrained in the earlier writings, and Altman's quote. What happens if this team loses whatever camaraderie exists now? Arizona is going to want payback for the blitz the Ducks put on them at MKA last season, ASU has a multi-game losing streak against the Ducks, and have now lost 2 in a row, this trip could be UGLY.
What is the team going to do with 15 games left on the schedule? As Bad as the Beavers were last season they never had a give up look to them. Does this team have the character to grow from here? It looks like you were right, Alan.

Both of the Browns have been the most disappointing.

Forgot we play the Arizona schools. Frankly a total beatdown might be what this team needs to turn it around. We will see though. But Altman is our coach and he knows how to get guys to play.

This team just has a terrible make-up. The transfers are average at best and don't look like they fit at all. In the past DA and the staff has always brought in the perfect guys. That's not the case this year. EBrown is the worst, just looks like he's out for himself on the court.

I agree with Grant, we should go future and let the freshman get the majority of the minutes. Playing bad SR transfers is pointless when they aren't helping you win.

Regarding some previous points, poor rebounding and blocking out is just a flaw we’ve always had with Dana. We’ve had two times we were eliminated from the tourney and you could look at very late offensive rebounds that were given up as why Oregon was eliminated (Wisconsin and North Carolina). We’re just gonna have to live with that.

And regarding this team needing a blowout, if they haven’t waken up by now with the bad losses and Dana calling them out publicly, not sure they ever will. You can tell how miserable Dana and Troy Brown are with this team.

The question is, is this just gonna be 1 bad year or more program defining in a bad way? Bol Bol better be ready to work his butt off next season.
