Andrew Greig article about the off season program MC intends to install at Oregon http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.s ... egons.html

And one of the links from the above article https://www.si.com/college-football/201 ... e-football

Finally, an interesting bit from Meek's column this morning...

When the opportunity arose at Oregon, Cristobal had to break the news to both Saban and Cristobal’s two sons, who were hoping to stay in Tuscaloosa for another national title run. But the kids came around, and Cristobal saw Oregon as the perfect place to apply what he’d learned.

“It was the one place we studied at Alabama and felt like, ‘Man, if they commit to the trenches, how do you beat them?’ ” he said.

That is a pretty great tip of the hat from the Saban staff to what we were doing as a program, but to be fair, it's been a trend in college football that outside of the SEC and the top 2-3 teams in the B10, what teams year after year consistently and completely dominate in the trenches?

USC, Texas and the other usual suspects get kids that look good getting off the bus but don't have the nasty streak.

Stanford tries but it never seems like they quite completely put a year together in the trenches.

We all thought Washington were monsters in the trenches but they got exposed last year by Alabama and kind of this year by us (they knew we were going to run and we still ran for well over what they allowed) and Michigan State.

Clemson supposedly were beastly in the trenches and their game with Bama wasn't even that close.

I think it is Darwinism. How many beastly 6'3-6'7" 300+ lb kids that run 4.6 40's and have a nasty-streak are there in America?

Who thought UW had monsters in the trenches? Everyone knew it was John Ross, and bama was able to control him, unlike the Pac 12.

Well, we may commit to the trenches but our offense will be completely different than the era when they studied us.

Agreed. I think our RB depth chart moving forward is very weak in comparison to 2006-2017.
