Curious to see how you think the standings will end up this year.

Teams (Last year record):
NORTH DIVISION
1. Stanford (9-5, 7-2)

My guesses are pretty similar to their rankings. I think we can finish ahead of Stanford, Bryce Love is fantastic and they have a great WR, but if Love gets injured again they're in a bad spot. I'm also higher on UCLA than Arizona. I doubt Khalil Tate's ability to keep it up over the course of a year and not get injured. I also think Chip will get more out of his guys than Kevin Sumlin. Not sure about Wazzu/Cal, it's hard to doubt Leach.

I expect a tough year for WSU. DC Alex Grinch left for tOSU, RB coach Mastro is now a Duck and three other position coaches left plus the S&C coach. A transfer QB, the #2 and #3 RB graduated and Leach kicked a couple of their top receivers off the team at the end of the season. A winnable non conference slate but they face USC, Utah, OSU, Oregon and Stanford to open the Pac-12. Doubt they are bowl eligible.

I agree that the Ducks can finish above Stanford, starting with beating them at home. Have to give the Huskies their due, for now.

In the South, gotta go with the Trojans on top, Tate was being dealt with better as the season went along, so push Chip & the Bruins above them. At the bottom, I just can't help but think that Herm is going to flame out @ ASU, and MacIntyre has a returning QB at Colorado.

I have north finishing similarly to you. For South, I'd go with:

1. USC
2. UCLA
3. Arizona
4. Utah
5. Colorado
6. ASU

2 through 6 in the South could really go many different ways. Those teams are all kinda in the same ballpark right now.

UCLA doesn't have the talent to finish that high. Yes chip is great. But Bellotti also left him a stacked cupboard, Mora didnt. His first couple years will look a lot like Pete at UW, he needs his players.

The South is gonna be a shitshow IMO. Between new coaches (UA, ASU, UCLA) and a new starting QB at USC, it’s anyones league. USC is the favorite because of their roster but they’ve always seemed to underachieve their talent.

In the North, I think anything outside of 3rd would be a disappointment for Oregon. The depth isn’t there to succeed with any major injuries (see last year) but the talent is there at the top of the roster to make some noise if everything falls in Oregon’s favor. UW is still the prohibitive favorite and Stanford has a similar feel to Oregon in terms of depth. I’m glad we get them at the start of the conference schedule when they seem to normally have struggles. 9/22 could be a defining day for the Ducks.

I'm believing what Duck24 is saying. I think Chip can make it to the top against a USC team that will under perform without a seasoned quarterback. Colorado and Montez will surprise people with their experienced defense.
I hope Oregon's depth issues happen against the right teams and they have a surprise upset against UW. WSU starts slowly falling back into mediocrity or worse.
