I am just going to put this here. Hopefully we can go on a nice run. Hard to believe we are even in the discussion....

Thanks to #9 Houston & #21 Iowa, losses to them don't look too bad now.UOducksTK1 wrote:We have the 2nd best BPI in the Pac-12 FWIW...northbeachsf wrote:I am just going to put this here. Hopefully we can go on a nice run. Hard to believe we are even in the discussion....

What's so hard to believe? We're a mediocre team in a mediocre league. Summoning my inner wHines, "We ain't going dancing."northbeachsf wrote:I am just going to put this here. Hopefully we can go on a nice run. Hard to believe we are even in the discussion....

I think you're making the same argument. The part he's claiming is hard to believe is that they are even in the discussion at all due to the factors you listed. I actually don't think it's a given that they'll be left out. I think the second half of their Pac-12 schedule shakes out to be easier than the first. They could go on a run and make it interesting. These new metrics the committee is using are actually giving favorable results to the team for some reason, so that could play in their favor if they play well down the stretch. I'm sure the committee would take into account the struggles due to injuries early in the year.nogerO wrote:What's so hard to believe? We're a mediocre team in a mediocre league. I'm not saying they would go deep in the tourney, but I could see them at least making it in. Hard to tell, because you never know which Oregon team you'll get from 1 game to the next. Let's hope they find some consistency!

Oregon is tied with Arizona for the most Pac-12 tourney championships. Altman usually has them ready to go and would almost certainly have had one more had Boucher not been hurt come the final a few years back.
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

.....and that should pretty much end any discussion.
How bad was our guard play last night?
That was insane.
