For the second time this season the Mariners stop a losing streak at 1, beat the White Sox, 9-2.

Mariners win, 12-5 to go to 9-2, on to Kansas City, for a 4 game series. Royals are currently, 2-6.

This new Tanking for the Pennant strategy is an interesting one. Not sure why they didn't try it sooner.

I'm shocked at how good they are hitting as a team. I still have zero confidence in the bullpen, but this team can score and make any game interesting.

The Mariner defense is an affront to the Lord and as mentioned above each reliever is worse than the one who came before, but hot damn can they hit.

It may well be, but I'd still like to see a link :) .

Need to trade Seager and Felix for a couple of solid relievers, and possibly a 3-4 starter.

I can't imagine there's a market for either. Felix is owed $27 million for this season, no team is going to take that on. If Seattle is forced to eat most/all of that salary, might as well just keep him. Seager is owed $19, $19, and $18 through 2021, and if he's traded then 2022 becomes a $15 player option. That's some serious coin for a slightly above average 3B.

Mariners 13 Royals 5. KC took the lead early in this one, getting 2 off of Felix, who would leave the game with virus issues. The Royals led 4-2 after four innings. The Mariners tied it with 2 in the 5th. It wasn't tied for very long, the Mariners got 8 in the 6th, led by Encarnacion's 2 home runs. Mariners got one more in the 8th, Royals, another in the 9th.

Accidentally putting together an elite hitting team in a rebuilding year, is such a Mariners thing to do.

It seems that whenever they actually try to put together a supposedly good offensive team it turns out to be a horrible offensive team. Maybe they shouldn't try more often.

Mariners 6 Royals 3, Mariners 11-2. 15 hits, one of them was particularly impressive; Santana 6'5 220,early in the game hits one off the end of his bat, it's rolling down the 3rd base line, he beats it out. Fourteen other hits for the Mariners. Gonzales goes 8, Swarzak gets the save, only 1 error.

Haniger's 2 out home run in the top of the 9th gives the Mariners a 6-5 lead, in the bottom of the 9th, a pop up to Beckham at shortstop, with the bases loaded, clinches the win. Mariners 12-2.
