Honestly Baylor is really good defensively but that was largely on Oregon, they just seemed to rush things and went away from their game.greenyellow wrote:Going 1-13 in the final few minutes really did Oregon in. It's similar to what happened against UCLA without Ruthy at MKA.

They looked exhausted down the stretch. Ruthy was just dragging and Sabrina was getting zero lift on her shots. Time zone difference or just a long, difficult game, not sure. Unfortunate we had the injury to that reserve guard, think she could have helped in this one.

Having someone like Chavez to spell Sabrina and Cazorla would have been big down the stretch.GrantDuck wrote:They looked exhausted down the stretch. 100% agree, but it's just not the Oregon way to be fully healthy when it matters most. Chris Boucher, Ifo Ekpre-Olumu, Bol Bol, Taylor Chavez, just isn't how it works in Oregon.greenyellow wrote:Having someone like Chavez to spell Sabrina and Cazorla would have been big down the stretch.GrantDuck wrote:They looked exhausted down the stretch. Had to be worn down with only eight players and Giomi mostly ineffective. Yep, could have used Chavez and a couple more players. Most of the season was with eight or nine.rockthief wrote:Had Baylor down and then that ^ happened. SMH.greenyellow wrote:Going 1-13 in the final few minutes really did Oregon in. Good game overall we just went cold at the end. If Sabrina hits that layup with a minute left I think we win.

Yeah, that layup was turning point for sure. At worst, we probably end up in overtime if that goes down.lukeyrid13 wrote:Good game overall we just went cold at the end. If Sabrina hits that layup with a minute left I think we win.
Great season by the ladies though. Even though this hurts, they should be proud. It would have been remarkable if they pulled out this game with such an overall talent disadvantage, a depleted roster and Sabally battling foul trouble the entire game.

At this point, it doesn't sound like she's thinking much about the WNBA.

Yeah, that one hurt. It was the closest game for Baylor since they lost to Stanford, The Baylor D kept the Ducks from executing the pick & roll like they are used to, the height to block the shots, usually Ruthy can receive the pass and just get past her defender, it was a little better in the 2nd half. Brown was much more of a threat offensively than was McCowan, and their backcourt made enough shots to get the win.

It’s hard to shoot after playing D against those big bodies pushing you around the whole game. Tired legs and Sabally in foul trouble were huge issues at the end. Good game and a good season for the team though.GrantDuck wrote:They looked exhausted down the stretch. Ruthy was just dragging and Sabrina was getting zero lift on her shots. Really sucks to lose but they showed they belonged and we'll be back as long as we can keep recruiting at a high level. Those other schools are always there in part because they take the best players and we can get to that point too. We can only speculate on what-if's, like if Nyara didn't get hurt.
SI is coming back; she's got 4 days to basically make up her mind. I do hope that Coach Graves and his lack of red-faced, sideline antics will be something that stands out for recruits going forward.

How is Oregon's recruiting class? Last I heard Oregon State and Stanford are dominating the Pac-12 with recruiting and Oregon whiffed on some big recruits, especially big recruits in the state of Oregon.Duck07 wrote:Really sucks to lose but they showed they belonged and we'll be back as long as we can keep recruiting at a high level. I believe 2 Australians and a British player are coming in. It's hard to get a grade on them as foreign players but there are well-thought of. One is 6'5" and the other 2 are guards iirc.OregonFan4Life wrote:How is Oregon's recruiting class?
