Did people really think this was going to be an easy game for Oregon? UNC has a distinct size/length advantage over the Ducks in the paint and didn't have to play an OT game yesterday, another reason they look a little faster. The Ducks have tended to play better in the 2nd half in this tournament so still too early to worry.

Also Matthis can heat up now. He’s missing a lot of open threes this tournament.

Nobody thought this would be easy but it’s sad that if Oregon bigs just blocked out Oregon would be up around 10. The guards have woken up and are making shots but the bigs have disappeared. UNC has to have around 15-20 second chance points, that’s a huge difference. Just sucks to see little fundamental things like offensive rebounds and free throws ruining a good shooting half from the guards.greenyellow wrote:Did people really think this was going to be an easy game for Oregon? They're the #6 team. If anyone thought this was going to be an easy game, they're insane.greenyellow wrote:Did people really think this was going to be an easy game for Oregon? I still have really high hopes for this team. Can't wait to get Dante back.

And the difference on the boards is only UNC by 4, with Oregon having 3 more total offensive rebounds than them. Main difference with regards to offensive boards is UNC has a shot blocker in Bacot turning back second-chance point opportunities while Oregon doesn't have that kind of rim protector/shot changer.

YES! Can't hit a FT. Seems like we were totally outplayed. You would think we should be down 15 but only 5. And this team will only get better; especially when Dante joins it.bigsugarduck wrote:Well....down 5 at half and being just abused in the paint so far. Second half should be better. Even though they have been thoroughly outplayed, Oregon is absolutely in the game...

I understand that but UNC’s getting easy inside offensive rebounds. Bacot knows to maintain inside position on defense making put backs harder for Oregon. UNC has gotten such easy rebounds inside where bigs didn’t even get a body on someone. I know Dante will help tremendously with this and screw the NCAA but the bigs we have should be doing much better, especially Okoro. Like the announcers are saying, the Oregon bigs aren’t taking the fight to UNC.greenyellow wrote:And the difference on the boards is only UNC by 4, with Oregon having 3 more total offensive rebounds than them. That was an incredibly dumb play after missing an easy layup cause he went up slow and soft. Don’t know what’s wrong with him but he’s really been a liability today. Juiston and Okoro absolutely cannot play together this gamePhenom wrote:Okoro...why?

It's almost like UNC actually practices fundamentals.

CJ really needs to develop some touch around the rim

Mathis not making his shots is killing us.

3/5 of our starting lineup cannot keep up with the talent today.

Need 5 guys on the floor to compete and Oregon hasn’t had that all game. No toughness from some of them
