Re: 2023-24 MBB Additions/Subtractions
Unfortunate we missed out on the transfer that went to Tennessee instead.
The ASU transfer is a nice piece and will improve the defense.
However, we REALLY need shooting still. The UGA transfer makes zero sense. Another guard that can't shoot?!? 26% and chucked up more than 150 of them!?
WTF is the staff thinking on that one...

Losing out on Knecht is really disappointing, especially because there doesn’t seem to be a backup plan for finding a similar player.
With the portal era there’s a lot of competition for transfers now; the days of finding a group of grad transfers no one else wanted and building a quality squad are probably over. It just feels like Altman is still hanging on to that strategy when it’s clearly no longer viable.

I blame Phil and Division Street. I realize Life Wallet just fell apart and is getting de-listed from the exchange, but that's not applicable for Phil.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Losing out on Knecht is really disappointing, especially because there doesn’t seem to be a backup plan for finding a similar player.

It really makes you wonder what we’re offering basketball players NIL wise. Miami built their final 4 squad with big NIL deals, if we want to compete in the portal we have to do the same.Duck07 wrote:I blame Phil and Division Street. Someone on 247 said Ethan Butler is gone. So Oregon has two more spots to fill. I really hope we get a good SG shooter.

Haven't heard anything about Rigsby yet so there could be three spots left to fill still. I wonder if they'd consider taking some developmental guys since in most years, Altman settles on a 7-9 man rotation.UOducksTK1 wrote:Someone on 247 said Ethan Butler is gone. With Cambridge decommitting, they're down to Evans as their lone PF. I imagine Altman may go looking for another one.
