Offensive Holding against vs. In favor of Oregon
Does anyone have stats for comparative analysis?? Curious what the cumulative penalties are this season. Seems like Oregon has had far more offensive holding penalties called on them compared to our opponents. I know you can make the case for holding nearly every play. This makes some offensive holding calls pretty subjective, which is one big reason this (IMO) SHOULD BE A 5 YARD PENALTY, NOT 10.
Seen some egregious opponent O-Line holds on our Defense go unaccounted for, it seems it would be a very lopsided statistic this year. If anyone knows how to compile the stats I would really appreciate it, I am curious to see the comparison. I think we are all ready to close the door on Pac 12 refs next year.
Thanks

5 yards for holding is an interesting idea. I think I actually agree with it.

I've thought this for decades. The 10 yards is excessive considering every single football analyst states without a doubt, "You can call a holding call on every single play".Tray Dub wrote:5 yards for holding is an interesting idea. I think I actually agree with it.

I’m a fan of the 5yrd holding penalty or having two categories 5yrd and 10yrd for more egregious infractions. The holding penalties that irritate me the most are the ones they call that have zero impact on the play. I also think PI calls should be reviewable upon a coaches challenge.

Isn't it nice being able to dream of a world with NO0o PAC12 refs?
Makes you wanna get all tingly at the possibitlities...
Until you consider that the B1G has already high grad... er, hired away multiple PAC12 refs to supplement their current roster.
Hope they are receiving a boat load of remedial training!
