Junior Day Yields First Commitment thumbnail

Local athlete Oshay Dunmore became Oregon’s first commitment of the 2012 recruiting class after he verbally committed to Chip Kelly at Oregon’s junior day. Dunmore, who plays at Newport High School, stands 6’2” and weighs 195 pounds, is a dynamic athlete that will also compete for Oregon’s track and field program. In his junior year of high school, Dunmore thrived at both running back and quarterback but it is believed that Dunmore is being brought to Oregon as a safety prospect.

Dunmore committed to the Chip Kelly and the Ducks over offers from Pac-12 rivals Washington and Oregon State. This commitment will certainly get secondary coach John Neal excited and hopefully Oregon can use this first commitment to get the ball rolling for this 2012 recruiting cycle.
