My answer for if these guys are role models or not. Would you leave your kids home with them?
Depends, if it was Bill Walton they would either be bored stiff from his stories or have the night of their lives.

It's also a trite litmus for what a role model is and nobody in the League office would say that the players aren't role models. They sell kids jerseys and posters - if you don't think a kid is going to look up to those players than you're being dishonest.

Yep, and this is why a star player waving a gun around on IG (days after his violent & hostile behavior is highlighted in a national news story) is objectively worse than one player punching another at practice. Both are bad, both should have been punished, but Draymond's outburst against a teammate (behind closed doors) is massively different than Ja bringing violence to public conflicts and then waving a gun around on social media. There are levels to this.

These players are absolutely role models and they're also the purveyors of the NBA's brand. Also, they can afford half-decent PR people. If they're not sharp enough to know they shouldn't wave guns around in strip clubs or share anti-semitic propaganda then they need to do better jobs of surrounding themselves with more intelligent people. They can definitely afford it.

Where are all the firings/suspension of people espousing anti-semitic hatred (death to jews, new intifada, from river to the sea etc....) the past 2 weeks?

Heck, there have been 10s of thousands of anti-jew protests by university students.... have they been suspended from school for half the semester and had scholarship money withheld, and are they being forced to donate to anti-hate organization and take an "educational" meeting with jewish leaders so they better understand their hateful speech?

No? I guess not. But if you repost a video about the jews really being black, then that's actually really bad.

Not to mention the take over of the capital building (a real insurrection?) by a bunch of Hamas lunatics last week. When are they going to be arrested?
